Little Bikes and Streetlights

Small kid time is most memorable when you have friends to race around the cul de sac with. (100 word entry)

I rang the bell and waited eagerly outside my neighbor’s safety door, until I heard the doorknob and metal hinges from behind the screen. “Hi Mrs. Sniffin, can Chelsey play?” I asked with a gap-toothed grin. I tangled the streamers on my bike handles in between my fingers, knowing that the answer was yes.
Chelsey and her wild cousins came bolting out their back door to grab the selection of bikes and Razor scooters for the day, and we raced down the street. Leaving our chores and homework in our dust, we could play until the streetlights went on.
