Theme: Big Island. "When I visit, it's as if I’m not leaving home, but returning to it." 100 words.

“Grams! Can we go eat at Tex Drive-Inn?” I would excitingly ask with a big glowing smile on my face. I loved visiting my grandma in Honoka’a. I have a lot of fond memories there, from going fishing at Mauna Kea Beach to eating the best malasadas in Hawai’i at Tex Drive-Inn. Even exploring her house to reveal parts of my mom’s childhood to yearly parties on New Year’s Eve where I get to see the maternal side of my family still make me feel good. When I visit, it's as if I’m not leaving home, but returning to it.
