So Close

Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday. ~Don Marquis, I chose the topic Last Minute and it is 100 words

     Fresh out of the shower on a cool night. I have combed my hair, and brushed my teeth. Put on a fresh pair of pajamas, and I am ready for bed. I have been thinking about my bed all day. Finally it‘s time. I pull my warm blanket over me, and lay my head on my soft pillow. I close my eyes and begin to drift from consciousness into a world of dreams. I was almost there, so close, but something in the back of my mind pulls me back and I wake up.
     HOMEWORK!
     So much for sleeping tonight.
