THIS IS A YEAR OF THE DRAGON CONTEST ENTRY

Miles Away She Watches

This is a Year of the Dragon Contest entry for September 100 words Grandma always knows...

We used to joke that Grandma had plenty mana because she always just knew things. Impossible things. She could be miles away and right beside you at the same time.

In college I was reckless and far away from home with no roots to keep me grounded. But Grandma could still watch over me. One night after a party, I passed out in a stairwell. I saw my Grandma standing next to me, urging me to get up. I followed her and walked home through an earthquake while the stairwell filled with crumbling masonry and glass. Grandmas mana IS plenty.
