There's a facination with stringing words together in a way they wouldn't normally fall. For me, that's what makes poetry beautiful and words so powerful.

Taste of A Song

Published by HINAEA | Sunday, May 05, 2013 8:41 AM

99 words in how a summer night eating out at the food trucks can turn into something sensual.

When I least expect it,
I can taste it in the evening
When the silent wanting between us grows sweet
in the same way the curve of your lips turn up as you mouth the word, devour
Pull me into your hands
Gather me between your fingers
Hold me
and
free me
in the same way a song takes life -
Every word written from the strings of my heart
A melody woven through the weight of my soul over and over again,
until they become your own words
for me to feed back to you
in a kiss
