Catharsis

Published by JOCQUE LE FOU | Monday, August 26, 2013 9:23 AM

It's a three part poem, the first half is inspired from the tanka from Outcry from the Inferno: Atomic Bomb Tanka Anthology which also inspires the situation for which the poem takes place in. The second half is inspired by Albert Saijo and his writing style. The last part shows the life he has now after his catharsis Word count: 72

Graveyards
filled with homes
Pride is obliterated
littering the streets
with our livelihood

MOM & DAD
ARE GONE
MY CHILDHOOD
FLUTTERING, FLAPPING IN THE WIND
IS DEAD
LOST, SCATTERED BY THAT CLOUD

I MUST WORK
I MUST PROVIDE
I MUST LIVE
for her

In her eyes,
I am Mom and Dad
In her mind,
with time she'll forget what happened
-and you guys too
In her heart,
I am all she has now
