100 words on firecrackers


Every Chinese New Year Uncle give us one small pack firecrackers but you gotta listen to one story first. He tell be careful, la dat.

Uncle stay counting, “Yut, gnee, sam, see, oong…”
“Whachudoing Uncle? Counting your fingers?”
Uncle look at me like I stupid. He tell, “You know how many toes da Emperor’s dragon get?”
“I donno, ah five?”
“Co-reck! Da Emperor’s dragon get five toes. Royal dragon get five toes. Commoners dragon get only four toes.”

He gimme da firecrackers, “You be careful when you burn firecracker. No blow up your fingers, bumbye you going be one commoner!”
