100 words on Labor Day


Labor Day supposed to be one holiday. But Daddy tink dats da last chance fo make me and Russo do work before school start. Aftah dat, we can tell we get homework so we no can cut da grass, trim da hedge, or paint da kitchen. So Labor Day means we gotta LABOR. Fo lunch he make pork and beans from da can wit Vienna sausage. We eat um cold. Open da cans, mix um up, eat. I ask Daddy, “How come only get one little piece pork fat inside?” He tell, “Bumbye dey gotta call um porks and beans.”
