A gathering of four Hawaiian wahine preparing wauke to pound kapa, practicing mele and 'oli, talking story, remembering all our relations...sharing under the Hua moon.

UNDER THE HUA MOON...............by Coochie aka Leilaniolanai

Under the Hua moon,
Na wahine 'eha plants the wauke,
cleans wauke, soaks wauke,
smelling the sticky sweet stems.

Under the Hua moon,
Venus aligns with Mahealani,
Ukuleles strum in harmony,
they begin a heavenly hula.

Palehua Nani vibrates tonight,
a lone bird whistles,
a shy mo'o chirps,
sensing many spirits.

We feel the Kumu smiling upon us,
all our relations gather in spirit,
as we kanikapila and kukakuka,
Under the Hua moon.

The heavenly hula vamps to Komohana,
stars twinkle endlessly,
Go and tell the story,
Of Palehua Nani under the Hua moon.
