Facing Fear

Published by CONNIED | Saturday, October 31, 2009 9:07 PM

Today
I will make the plunge.
I will pause
to catch my breath,
then jump
off the deep end
and pray I will land
in calmer waters.
Some will miss the old me
but will eventually
go back to treading water
and splashing their new friends.
Whatever I do,
once I jump
I can’t look back
or second guess
my decision.
I will have
to finally
learn the high dive;
and face my fear.
