BR 100 Word Contest


She walked dirt roads arms outstretched to feel the trees. Skipping patterns of shadows. Stencils on chocolate canvas. Swirled mochas on a large oak table. Maybe a slice of silk pie. She remembers him in that cocoa cardigan and his navy blue shades. Smoking menthols. Intricate as the antique brass knobs of the apartment they used to share. Less warm than the debris the fire left behind. Trips to Tokyo. Sunsets delivered by wide angle lens. He loved to kick waves in her face. Roll her window down when they drove in the rain. The clues were in the water.
