My faddah nevah like jokes.
“Not funny,” He’d say,

bout da Yobos,

or da Buddha Heads, blind um
wit dental floss.

Da Blallahs, da Soles,
even da Podagees, who talk
in dat sputtered, sprinklah tongue,
and no can screw in da light bulb
witout tchree mo
tellen um which way fo turn um.

“Korean, Japanese, Hawaiian, Samoan,
Portuguese, not Podagee, undahstand?”
My faddah nevah like jokes.
“Not funny,” He’d say, den ask,
“Where you wen hear
dat racist shet from?”
