BR 100 word contest


Crossing Golden Gate Park, my chest tight. “Why didn’t we go to that Chinese place? Now we have to pay for parking.”
“We’re taking Dorris out tonight. Remember?”
“But I’m hungry now. And I’m dehydrated. We should’ve stopped at that store.”
He pulled me along. “It’s only a couple blocks. We’re lucky to get any parking.”
“You don’t even care that I’m thirsty. And I’m hungry. You know that I can’t go without food. You know—”
“Angela, shut up and look at the sky!” He pulled me down onto the grass.
And I did. And I did.
