BR 100 Words Contest (November): The pain runs wide and deep.

I scared the Mercurochrome. My best friend Junie said, “No worry – Bactine better.” She put some on my strawberry knee with cotton and blew on it. “Pau the pain,” she said. “Now I going make you Exchange orangeade.” Outside her house, a policeman was talking to her dad. Her brother Stan was looking at the ground, scraping the dirt with his toe. Small kids were scared of him. Junie’s dad looked old and old. Later Mom said that Stan was the one breaking into houses and stealing stuff. Junie’s family moved away, and I never saw my best friend again.
