The Worst Job in the World

BR 100 word contest. Even the most magical fantasies have an unglamorous side.


She stopped feeling job satisfaction decades ago; most children today think their parents are the ones leaving the quarters. And the travel is murder. At least Claus only has to make the rounds once a year.

Why teeth?” her mother had wailed. “For Chrissake, Deirdre, why teeth?” Honestly, she can’t even remember. Back in her tiny, one-bedroom flat she’s got over 700,000 teeth crammed into every corner she can fit them. Every week, she has to bury a few thousand just to make room. Toothpaste sponsorships keep her off the street.

But hey, somebody’s got to be the tooth fairy.
