The Last Scene

My last moments with my dog.

Rodeo was my fourteen year old hound dog. She could barely walk, her eyes were clouded with cataracts, and she would spend all day on her pillow. The last thing I did was kick Rodeo out of my room because she was stinking up my floor.

I came home from school. "Do you notice anything different about the house?" Mom asked.

I said, "Oh," because I knew Rodeo was gone. I was not sad. My mom had health problems and it was too much to take care of Rodeo and my mom. Rodeo will be missed.
