BR 100 word contest

He didn’t believe in love at first sight until that day he saw her jogging at the park. Their eyes briefly met, and she smiled that smile that had ensnared him since. He was at the park almost everyday after that.

He once came with flowers, only to chicken out when she neared.

Another time he brought her a bag of avocados from his neighbor’s tree, but she didn’t show so he gave them to a tourist.

Today he had mangoes. And a spine. “Third time’s a charm,” he whispered.

“Excuse me?”

“I said, these are for you.”

She smiled.
