Aloha to all of you friends and supporters of BAMBOO RIDGE. I hope your March is going well and that all your loved ones near and far are safe.

Happy Birthday to all the March folks. Don't think of it as being a year older. Think of it as celebrating being a year better at your writing : )

If you haven't already submitted your March entry for The Great BR Fishing & Wishing 100 - 100 Contest, please publish your piece on the Bamboo Shoots page of the BRP website by 2:00 p.m. HST on March 31st. Here are the rules -- don't forget your word count:

At the April 3rd live taping, AS goes green, with readings on sustainability. Phyllis says:

"Aloha Shorts dedicates its upcoming live taping to Earth Day with stories and poems about sustainability in our islands. Scheduled for Sunday, April 3, at Hawaii Public Radio's Atherton Studio, this FREE event begins at 6:45 pm with a musical set by Aloha Shorts' ever-'green' house band Hamajang. Aloha Shorts tapings are regularly filled to capacity and audiences are encouraged to reserve their seats at the earliest opportunity by calling the station (during business hours) at 955-8821."

Live on Maui and want to be a reader for AS? AS will hit the road for the first time ever:

"Aloha Shorts is looking for Maui residents to read for their May Day taping at Wailuku's historic Iao Theatre. Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 9, at the Maui Economic Opportunity offices in the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Family Center in Wailuku, 99 Mahalani St., Room 1, from 10 am - 2 pm. The May 1st live taping 'On the Road with Aloha Shorts: Maui No Ka 'Oi' is Aloha Shorts' first venture off-island. Featured are pieces by Bamboo Ridge writers with Maui connections, including Brandy Nalani McDougall and Milton Murayama. Those interested in auditioning should contact alohashorts@gmail.com.
