Cherry blossoms in NYC

I never thought I'd see cherry blossoms in New York City.

And I was wrong!

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has a yearly Sakura Matsuri Festival celebrating their cherry blossom trees in bloom. This year's festival was on April 30th–May 1st.

Here are some photos of the beautiful trees and the dense crowds.

It was like being under a canopy of pink clouds. Up close, they look like cotton candy balls.

And here is a photo of the bento prices, because I knew nobody at home would believe $14 bentos.

Not in this photo: the $4 musubis. EACH.

They were 7-11 sized bentos, not even Costco-sized, if Costco sold bentos.

Does Costco? I've been away from Hawaii for a while. Let me know!
