December Year of the Rooster Writing Contest Rules and Regs : )

Yes, it's that holiday-ze time of year when all hell breaks loose on O'ahu roads. Add rain, and you've got a perpetual display of how bad drivers can be on this island. I mean REALLY bad drivers. I mean their driving ability is zero.

But on to happier topics. You know the routine already, but I'll post the rules as always. This month you can write

a haiku

or

a piece that is EXACTLY 100 words

or

a piece that is EXACTLY 2000 words

I encourage all kinds of writing. Anything from fiction, to poetry, to plays to essays, to hybid genres. Anything you can dream up, be it standard fare or super exotic experimentation is acceptable. If you think you want to enter, but you're afraid to do so because you don't want your friends to know, you obviously can enter under any name you like. Think you got an idea but can't get in out on paper, I will help you do it. Just email me your idea at bamboobuckaroo@gmail.com, and I'll help you. I mean EVERYONE has a 100 word piece waiting to hit that blank page. Together we can do it. Guaranteed.

So without further ado, here are this month's writing topics:

Hanukkah
Kwanzaa
Christmas
Gifts
Giving
Receiving
Lights
Trees
Religion
Politics
Elephants
Donkeys
Jackasses
Nuclear war
North Korea
South Korea
The DMZ
Shopping
Buying
Selling
Driving
Traffic
Turn signals
Texting
Cell phones
Cars

Okay, I think that's a pretty full list with many, many options. Ready, set, go crazy, go wild, go write.
