Today’s word is

ghost

Write anything using it and post your words on the Bamboo Shoots page. We would love to read what you write. Don't forget that pieces posted on the Bamboo Shoots page may be published in a future issue of Bamboo Ridge. Happy Thursday / Po'aha : )

Here's my draft for today.

Hawai?i Sonnet 81 (The Tymes, for AT)

After all the quaint loves have faded,
who do not remember they have forgotten me,
when we were younger in too ancient times,
because of a space kept sacred in my heart,
that glow where we two walk hand in hand again,
you, photographer of the keepsake kept safe,
study of my mind’s enduring landscape,
the light and shadow in which we sway,
rain and sunlight playing on the Ko'olaus —
you, subject of my snapshot memory,
never forgotten lyricist of my melody,
you act out all the parts of a perfect ghost,
haunting me with pleasure, nowhere near
the most unpleasant specter of my past.
