“Shoulder Moon”

What makes sense to me,
Too goddamned tired
Too goddamned tired
Too goddamned tired.
But I used to try and make sense of it all.
As if other people’s tiny ways of understanding
Deserved to be as bright
As the half moon in this twilight sky above me.
But I’m too goddamned tired
For anything other than what makes sense to me.
And right now I’m hungry
On my bicycle headed home. Shoulder moon,
Balancing on wheels is a miracle.
